PBA-FM is a community radio station broadcasting to the northern suburbs from the TWELVE25 Youth Enterprise Centre in Salisbury.

Operated by Para Broadcasters Association Inc. as a not for profit enterprise, PBA-FM was formed in 1978 and conducted a successful test transmission in April 1981. A  full licence was granted in November 1982 with broadcasting commencing in 1983. Today, PBA-FM provides entertainment, information and access programs to the local community.

Members of the community are able to train in broadcasting and join the ‘army’ of volunteers from all walks of life who present programs as diverse as the local community. Volunteers contribute to the operation of the station by working in on-air presentation, program production, administration, technical, research, library, training and promotions.

PBA-FM celebrates the diversity of the local community, broadcasting over 70 programs in 16 languages.

Programming at PBA-FM (89.7MHz) is as diverse as the community and encourages fresh, innovative and entertaining programs to suit all styles and tastes. Many local community groups, ethnic, religious and special interest groups also broadcast their own programs on PBA-FM. If you’re a part of a special interest group, a club or society, or are an individual interested in the radio, get in touch and find out just how inexpensive it can be to have your own program on PBA-FM.
