The process of choosing your future career is a combination of inspiration, aspiration, and preparation. Secondary school students looking to turn their trade interest into a profession can commence their career journey while at school.

St Patrick’s Technical College in Edinburgh North delivers vocational education, training, and apprenticeship pathways for students in Years 10 to 12.

A purpose-built trade training school, the college offers a unique approach to senior secondary education by providing students with the skills and opportunities to commence a trade career.

Our main charter is to assist students in completing their senior secondary education while concurrently undertaking vocational education and training studies, either at school or with an employer through an apprenticeship or traineeship.

“Vocational education is an important model of learning; an important model to ensure more young people are gaining real skills and will play a growing role in boosting our economy,” college Principal Danny Deptula says.

Since opening in 2007, the college has assisted over 1,300 young people in making the transition from school to employment through an apprenticeship or traineeship.

Offering a trade-relevant SACE curriculum, as well as training and apprenticeship pathways, students who love to work with their hands, are interested in pursuing a trade career pathway, and are looking for an education that offers relevance and opportunities for employment, should consider St Patrick’s Technical College.

Families are invited to visit the college by registering for a tour. This is an opportunity to see the unique learning environment, learn about the education, training and apprenticeship pathways model, and to discuss the programs, curriculum and enrolment process.
